ASTP, Europe’s association of knowledge transfer professionals, will be marking its 25th anniversary at the 2025 Annual Conference in Vilnius, Lithuania, one of the key events on knowledge and technology transfer developments. Bringing together professionals, institutions, and innovators from across Europe and beyond, the conference will run from 21–23 May 2025 and act as a hub for networking, learning, and deep-dive discussions.
IMPAC3T-IP will be onsite, introducing the project’s latest updates during the Ecosystem Insights sessions (from 13:30 to 15:30). Under the title: “New tools for licensing: achieving more impact from diverse research outputs”, the talk, presented by Lisa Cowey, technical coordinator of IMPAC3T-IP, will explore how knowledge transfer professionals can unlock greater value from a broader range of research outcomes.
The session will be of particular relevance to Technology and Knowledge Transfer Offices (TTOs/KTOs) and professionals seeking new, scalable models for impact, whether through Creative Commons, Freemium licensing, or automated and lower-cost transfer processes. Attendees will also learn about the upcoming toolbox and the subsidised training course launching in 2026, which will support professional development and equip practitioners with the tools and skills to operate across increasingly complex innovation and licensing ecosystems.
We hope that by engaging with IMPAC3T-IP at ASTP 2025, knowledge transfer professionals will gain practical insights into how to adapt their licensing strategies to evolving research, policy, and societal needs, thereby ensuring their work continues to generate real-world impact.
